N.Z. CRICKET COUNCIL. Pf,|{ I’kess Association. Christchurch, October 31. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council was held on Saturday night. The opinion was unanimously expressed that no Plunket Shield or Hawke Cup matches should be played during the currency of the war, nor representative matches for charitable objects. The president of the Auckland Association was elected president of the council, and the presidents pf the other affiliated associations vice-presi-dents. The retiring officers and management committee were re-elected, Messrs Heathcote Williams, F. S. Walding, and F, O. Raphael were elected life members of the council. A motion was passed tying the hands of the management committee in regard to the payment of players on tour. : : I
