THE PRUSSIAN DIET.
SOCIALISTS DEMAND PEACE.

Amsterdam. June 25. Tumultuous scenes occurred in the Prussian Diet.
Herr Wiemer (Progressive), referring to the war, appealed for unanimity, which, lie said, was essential in carrying out tahe German efforts.
Herr Liebknecht (Socialist), interjected the words : “Capitalist efforts.”
Hen- Braun (Socialist) urged the Government not to neglect any opportunity to arrange a speedy peace. It would be a calamity if Germany carried out the King of Bavaria’s annexation ideas. The people wanted peace, and rejected annexation as protracting the unbearable loss of national strength.
“WE HAVE THE MASSES WITH US AND THEY WANT PEACE."

Further details of the discussion in the Prussian Diet show that Herr Wiemer said he was convinced of Herr Heinemann’s views in favor of continuing the war, as against Herr Liebknecht’s views.
Herr Liebknecht shouted: “We have the masses with us, ami they want peace.”
