A special meteing of the Borough Council will be held this evoning at 7..51) o'clock, to consider loan proposals.

The site for the new Municipal Chambers is being prepared. The contractor (Mr McMillan), and the Borough Overseer (Mr T. |). Sullivan) are busy to-day surveying the section, and work will soon be started.

A grand patriotic concert and dance will be held in the Coronation Hall, Toko, ,on Thursday evening next. The music will be provided by Mrs Bianclii's orchestra, and Mr Pearson, of Huiroa.

The financial proceeds of the gra .J patriotic concert and dance, to be held in the Midhirst Town Hall on Wednesday evening, are to be devoted to the Sick and Wounded Soldiers Fund.

The Press Association reports:—Vuder instructions from Nestle and the Anglo-Swiss Milk Co., Ltd., Mr J. M. Johnston, Palmerston North, has completed the purchase of 28 acres of land opposite the Awapuni railway station as l a site for the erection of" condensers and factory. Fortunately, the forgery was discovered before the boy's mother read the name in the paper, otherwise the consequences may have been serious.
