Japan v China

TERMS OF TWO TREATIES. LITTLE DIFFERENCE FROM ULTIMATUM. Unitid Pbem Association. (Received 8.55 a.m.) Pekin, -May 27. Two treaties between China and Japan have been signed. The first deals with Shantung Peninsula, and the second with Mongolia. The treaties disclose the substituting of one mining right for another. The only difference from the terms oi the ultimatum submitted by Japan is the claims by Japan to cover the injuries to Japanese subjects, and the damage to Japanese property in Hankow by Chinese mobs. The concessions were made following the presentation several months ago of a list of twentyone demands, which largely have to do with industrial operations in China, particularly in regard to railroads am mines. China also engages not to cede or lease to any third Power any territory in specified districts.

FRENCH REGULATIONS AGAINST TRADING WITH ENEMY. United Pares Association. (Received 9.40 a.in.) Pekin, May -27. The French authorities have promulgated throughout China drastic regulation* against Frenchmen trading with the enemy, and the hope is expressed that Britain will do similarly.
