GERMAN SUBMARINES. LOSS OF 17 SINCE FEBRUARY 18. fINITEO PftKM ASSOCIATION. (Received 5.45 a.m.) Copenhagen, May 20. It is reported in German naval circles that Germany lost seventeen submarines since 18th February. 'flie Weddingeus says that the news of the loss greatly depressed the crews of other submarines. “AUSTRALIA’S THOROUGHNESS.” (Received 8.45 a.m.) London, May 20. The Pall Mall Gazette, commenting on the loss of the submarine AE2, states: No incident more pointedly exemplifies Australia’s thoroughness iu war than the despatch of such a vessel across half the world. SUBMARINE VICTIM. (Received 8.45 a.m.) Loudon, May 20. The steamer Dumcree was submarined at Cornwall, but the crew was saved. MISCELLANEOUS. Copenhagen, May 20. A fund lias been started at Madgebiirg to give a testimonial to the submarine which sunk the Lusitania.
