SENSATION AT PETONE.
THREE PEOPLE MISSING. Per Press Association. Wellington, May 10. Yesterday morning Philip Cameron, farmer, residing at 194 Hutt Road,’ Petone, reported to the police that three members of his family were missing, having mysteriously disappeared between Friday morning and Saturday night. The missing people are Mrs Xorah Cameron, Queenie Cameron (19), Donald Cameron (14). According to Cameron, who owns a farm at Horokiwi, he left home at 5.4.0 n Friday morning to work on tho property. He did not see the missing people before he left, but as be occupied a separate room, this was not unusual. He returned at 7 p.m., when his wife and two children were absent, and thinking they were at some pictures, he retired to bed. He left the house again early on Saturday morning, returning in the evening. As there was no sign of the family then, he reported the matter to the police. A peculiar feature is that, according to the clothing left, the missing people must have left only partially clad. Two other inmates of the house were little girls, named Dundas. They say that at 6 o’clock on Friday morning, they say tho three missing persons running partially dressed on the road to Petone, and that all were barefotted and very scantily clad. The disappearance is causing excitement at Petone, and developments are eagerly awaited.
