Lieutenant Vernon Crawshaw lias been instructed to proceed to the camp at Tre nth a in. Mr. F. Eurby (private secrete• v to the Premier) to-day telegraphed Mr H. K. Abraham, manager of Mr. .New* ton King’s Stratford house stafng that his brother, Lieut ?nant- Furby turned out to he severely wounded in the Dardanelles, and is probably going on to England to undeVgo an operation. Lieutenant Furby was a member of Mr. Newton King’s Stratford staff. Lieutenant Crawshaw, who is called upon at very short notice for active service with the Wellington reinforcements is also an esteemed member of the same staff and the only surviving son of Mr. W. ,). Crawshaw. manager of the Bans: of New Zealand in this town.
