STORMY TIMES IN CONSTANTI-

NOPLE.

London, March 25.

Mr Donohoe, war correspondent, cables from Constanza that there is a bitter struggle at Constantinople between the war and peace parties. The latter demand capitulation. The feud may culminate in a revolution, the Military League being considered as sworn foes. The committee of Union and Progress has been resuscitated. It aims to destroy the German-Young Turks incubus. Already the army is divided. Fear of a coup d'etat led the Government to contemplate a separate peace, and a stormy Cabinet meeting was held. The majority decided to negotiate with the Allied commander-in-Chief, and asked the American Ambassador to ascertain the conditions for surrender of the Dardanelles and Constantinople. At the last moment von Sanders, the-German Government representative, broke into the Cabinet, furiously expostulated, threatened the instant arrest of the peace majority, and vowed that he would shoot any member communicating with the Allies*. ,He eventually bludgeoned tjhe Government into submission.
