LONDON WOOL SALES.

Wool.—There is keen competition for crossbreds in sellers’ favour. Merinos are firm. “Panikau” 18d to 17-ld; “Awanui,” eighteen to 17£d, “Leafield,” 17-Jd to 16Jd, “March Burn,” IGd to 15 Id.

The High Commissioner in his market report under date London, March 16, says: The Colonial wool sales bare commenced. The market looks very strong, there being a number of buyers at top prices for crossbred wool. A continuance of high prices are expected for all grades of medium and coarse crossbreds, the market for which advanced j|d per lb on an average. Other wools are firm at last quotations.

NEWTON KING'S HAYMARKET REPORT. For my Haymarket sale, held on Saturday last, I had a fair entry ol pigs. There was a large attendance at the .sale, the inquiry for all classes was easier, prices falling somewhat, 'weaners being dull of sale, with 3s 4d to 5s 6d drop on larger sorts. Several pens failed to reach the reserve and were passed in. I quote as follows: Slips and weaners 6s to 10s 6d, smaller sorts 2s 6d to 4s 6d, small stores 12s to 14s 6d, medium ditto 17s 6d to £1 4s, large £1 14s, pedigree weauer boars £1 10s. T. LAMASON’S WEEKLY REPORT. Last Saturday we held our usual weekly sale, when a very large andiuce was present. We quote as folio vs.— Hens Is to Is Cd, cockerels Is to 2s, ducks Is 3d to Is 6d, cauliflower 3.s per do/.en, cabbage 2s to 3s, potatoes os to 7s per cwt., onions 2s (Id to 11s per bag, apples 2s to 5s per case, pears 2s to 4s, quince Is Cd to 3s 3d, poach 3s to ss.
