MISCELLANEOUS. United Press Association. London, February 24. The Government has appointed a committee to secure the co-operation of mine owners and colliers in an endeavor to free the largest possible number jf men qualified for enlistment, without hampering the output. Twenty millions worth of Treasury >ills for renewal purposes were subicribed three-fold, the average disount rate being for six months at
5-8 per cent., and for twelve months t 2.7-8 per cent.
THE ALLIES' RESOURCES.

In the debate in the House of Comnons, the speakers generally approved me scheme for pooling the Allies' resources. Mr Chamberlain thought that Belgium should raise a loan under a joint ruarantee of the Allies, instead of the Allies raising a joint loan. Mr Lloyd George stated that he igreed with Mr Chamberlain, hut was iinable to carry the point at the conferences. He added that the joint reiources were enormous. This war was lot merely of men, but of equipment. Time and resolute application were all chat was necessary to secure victory.
