Mr H. J. Thompson, 8.A., the re-cently-appointed assistant master to the Stratford High School began work at that institution to-dav.
The death of the Rev. Thomas Kelly Cheyne, biblical writer, at the age of seventy-four, is reported by a Loudon P.A. cablegram.
Mr D. B. Doggett. who has been attached to tlie Stratford Post and Telegraph Office, was yesterday presented with a handbag by the ActingPostmaster (Mr J. Mulvey), on behalf of his fellow-workers in the department.' Mr Doggett left by last night's mail train, it being his intention to take up work as a wireless operator ill Australia.
