SHACKLETON EXPEDITION.
REPORT FROM SOUTH GEORGIA United Press Association. London, February 7. Sir Ernest Shackleton, writing from South Georgia on November 30tu, said that owing to bad ice repoit j lie did not expect to reach New Zealand until early in March, 1916. '* ill Creau, Marston,' Hurley, and Macklin were likely to accompany ii.m on the overland journey, starti ig in November, 1915, and reaching the other side in February. % The Endurance returns to Noilb Georgia in. March, 1916, and thence to Buenos Ayres. The party erected a set of true meridian posts in Soi Hi Georgia to enable whalers to correct their compasses. The expedition hoped to hind at the cud of December to prepare their winter juarters and lay down depots for overlau levs. Alter quitting Buenos Ayres, a youngster was found stowed away. lie explained that this was his only nance to accompany the expedition . He was attached to the cook’s staff. Powerful wireless receivers, presented lay Argentina, would he erected at the winter quarters, capable of receiving signals from the Falkland island.;. The dogs are in excellent condition.
