CAPTURE OF AUSTRIANS. United Pbebb 'Association. Petrograd, January 19. During the last fortnight in December General Doitrieff captured 311 Austrian officers, and 22,269 soldiers, and 52 guns. AT THE FRONT IN POLAND. BRAVE CHRISTIAN MEN. SERVICE AMID SHELL-FIRE. Timii and Sydney Sun Sibviom. (Received 8 a.m.) London, January 19. A correspondent at *the front in Poland says the Cossacks on New Year's Eve, amid fierce fighting, held religious services. Just when the priest pronounced the words: "Glory to God in the highest," a shell struck the wall with a deafening explosion but nobody stirred. A group of officers repeated in a chorus the priest's words; the service finished; and battle was resumed. DESERTERS DISCOVERED IN A CELLAR.
,» (Received 9.5 a.m.) Petrograd, January 19. Russians in Galicia, who opened the trapdoor of a cellar in a chateau, despite a warning not to open it owing to poisonous gases, found two hundred Austrian deserters from Cracow who had been hiding for five weeks.
