A Double Tragedy
RABBITERS’ LAST “SPREE” DEATHS FROM HEART FAILURE. Per Press Association. Feilding, January 18. A sad double tragedy is reported from Rongotea, where two old men, who were mates as rabbiters, had been drinking heavily at their camp. Robert Paterson died practically in delimium tremens, and his mate, named Emanuel White, went to Rongotea to report to the police, but he too dropped dead. A medical man said both cases were the result of heart failure.
