BOY KILLED ON THE ROAD. THE CART OVERTURNED. A distressing accident occurred on the East Road yesterday morning, and resulted in the death of trancis Seddon McCullough, aged six years, son of Mr F. McCullough, of East Road. The deceased and his brother aged fourteen, had driven to the factory with milk, and they were returning home with three cans of skim milk. While trotting along East Road, not far from their home, the belly-band of the harness broke, and the horse got out of hand. The elder boy, who was driving, pulled into the side of the road. .The neai wheel struck a rotten log and the horse and cart were overturned. The elder boy was thrown out, but the younger was pinned face downwards by the cross-beam of the cart. Mr Fawkner, of East Road, was attracted by the noise and was soon on thq spot. He released both boys and sent for assistance.

On Dr. Steven’s arrival, it was found that the elder boy was uninjured, but that the younger was already dead.
