BOWLING.

Fine weather prevailed on Saturday for the concluding day of the New Plymouth bowling tau.ijame'u. Th.'» semi-finals lay between Johnson and Lobb, and Smart and Sole. In the former game Lobb went down, and in consequence great interest was shown in the game between Sole and Smart, to sqe who should play Johnson. Smart looked as though defeated, but on his' last shot secured 5, and the game ended Smart 22, Sole 17. The play in the final was fairly even. The eighteenth head saw the scores 15 all. Johnson then scored a single, but the twentieth head saw the game equal. Johnson displaced Smart's bowl wrth his last shpt, and won amidst general applause.
