SIDE-TRACKING OF VON MOLTKE GERMAN PRESS DISPLEASED AT THE CHANCE. United Press Association. (Received 0.0 a.m.) London, December 14. Germans newspapers show that though the press were strictly prohibited from criticising the acts of the Government, there is much displeasure at the sudden change in military leadership. It is stated that Von Moltke was politely side-tracked, and the supreme command given to Von Falkenhcyn.

Thb Tageblatt states that the latter was appointed temporary chief of staff on 25th October, and has therefore held the leadership since the fall of Antwerp, since when he has been uniting all the functions which in 1870 were divided between Von Moltke and Von Roon. It is stated that the Kaiser opposed Von Moltke’s proposal to concern tratel on the Verdun.Toule line, because of the possibility of a hostile enveloping movement braking the wedgb which Von Moltke proposed to advance upon.
