Dean Stephen, of Melbourne, lias been consecrated as Bishop of Tas-
Mr C. N. Boulfc, of Mackay, Queensland, has been appointed engineer to the Westport Harbor Board. An old identity of Masterton, rIF the person of Thomas Wilton, senr., died yesterday, at the age of 83. He arrived in Wellington in the forties in the ship Oriental.
Mrs H. H. Carr, sister of Sir James Carroll, died at Wairoa last night after a long illness. The funeral takes place on Thursday, states the Press Association. \
The death occurred at the New Plymouth Hospital on Sunday evening of Mr Wm. Innis, an old resident of Okato. Mr Innis, who was 84 years of age, had been in the,hospital only a few days. He had been a resident of Okato for the past 5U years.
An Auckland Press Association telegram this morning states: Frank Basiou, a. single man, and his brother, were employed in a cutting t six miles from Huntly, when the top of the cutting fell, burying Frank Basion. When he was extricated life was extinct.
