The Pastoralists' Union protests against the proposals of oversea shipping companies to increase freights and primage on wool involving an extra payment of £500,000, in view of war responsibilities. Tho Associated Chambers of Commerce of Great Britain have cabled to the Australian Association that British manufacturers are assuring delivery of orders subject to Government; requirements. Financial insurance and other matters were already straightened out.
A meeting of wool buyers resolved ;hatj no sales be held at present. They meet on September 9 th to further consider the position.

Cabinet members decided to devote en per cent of their salaries to the inemployment fund.
