CHAMBERLAIN'S FUNERAL.
BIRMINGHAM IN MOURNING.

A service at the Unitarian Church was attended by leading residents of the Midlands. Tens of thousands of workers thronged the streets, spending the dinner hour paying their last homage while the coffin was being removed to Keyhill Cemetery. Only, the family participated in the burial.
The memorial service held at St. Margaret's was attended by the Speaker, Mr Asquith, and members of the Cabinet. Lord Stamfordharn represented the King. Mr Balfour and other leading politicians, Sir G. Reid, the Hon. Thomas Mackenzie and the Ageni>General were among those present. .; PULPIT REFERENCES. I London, July 6. Many pulpit references were mado to Mr Chamberlain..' The body tvas; conveyed to Sighbury, followed by immense crowds. AUSTRALASIAN TRIBUTES. Sydney, July 6. There are many tributes to the late Mr Chamberlain from the Press and public men, particularly as to his championship of Imperial preference, the Australian Federation, and naval defence. Mr Deakin described him as the greatest Colonial Secretary and the greatest Imperialist' !n British politics. London, July 6. The Daily Mail publishes a cablegram from the Premier of New Zealand paying a tribute to Mr Chamberlain. THE COMMON'S RESPECT. (Received 10.20 a.m.)
London, July 6. . On Mr Asquith's motion, the House of Commons adjourned as a token of the debt owed to Chamberlain's life and example.
