AMUSEMENTS.
BERNARD'S PICTUREB. Bernard's specially-heated theatre was well patronised last night, when an entirely new programme of pictures was screened. "The Warwick Chronicle" introduced tho latest happenings throughout the world very clearly. The star drama. "Shadow of Guilt," shows a cleverly contrived scheme of a fight for a millionaire's millions. The remainder of the dramas are all firstclass productions-, and Vitagraph is to the fore in the comedy, "Tangled Threads." To-morrow evening the programme, which arrives direct from Wellington, includes F.li's. 3190 ft. drama, "One Hour Before Dawn,' 'also Kalem's pretty drama adapted from the wellknown song, "The Little Hero." A burly old salt relates what he declares to be the bravest deed he ever saw. The old sailor is aboard a vessel bound for Australia when the discovery is made of a little stowaway. The skipper gives him ten minutes to reflect in, and if within that time he has not confessed which of the crew brought him aboard he shall be hanged.
