IN CLAIM FOR LIBEL. [By EuwTMd Tbmgbaph—Copybwht l XUniwd Pmm Amooumon.i Sydney, June 17. After te lengthy summing-up by the Chief Justice in the action brought by Gwendoline Browne against J. A. Bridge, claiming £2OOO compensation for alleged libel and-assault, the juYy found that the defendant was not actuated by malice in writing the letter complained of, or by personal feeling against the plaintiff, or with the object of asserting the power of the diri ectors to dismiss employees without Morath's consent, regardless of the plaintiff. On the second count, as to' whether the defendant used unnecessary violence, in removing Browne from the premises, the jury found in the affirmative, and awarded the plaintiff £SO damages. The Chief Justice re-; * fused an application to stay proceedings. ■ - ''.
