Jane Nightingale has been charged with the murder of Emily Halburn, the victim of a fire at the Salvation, Army Home at Taringa on the 23rd January. At the time of the fire. Nightingale told a constable that she fired the homo for revenge on the Matron. The jury found that the defendant was insane at the time of the confession, and therefore it was not acceptable as evidence against her. Defendant was discharged.
