"ALL TOMMY-ROT!"
EMPIRE DAY CELEBRATION. [By Eleotbio Telegraph—Copybight] [United Press Association.] (Received 9 a.m.) The Borough Council at Port Melbourne discussed a proposal to co-oper-ate in the Empire Day celebrations. The Mayor, Mr Page, declared it was all" tommyrot about Empire Day. It should be wiped out. He intended to entertain the children on the anniversary of the French Revolution, when the workers revolted against tyranny, and explain to the children what that day meant. The Council carried a resolution that the citizens would like to celebrate the day by the erection of a new school in a certain street to replace the present pig-stye.
