Xew Zealand Loan and .Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from bheir London house under date, Lsth \pril, 1914: What.—We have sol an Australian cargo at 36s c.i.f. The market is quiet but steady and the outlook is uncertain.
Matthews, Gamlin and Co. report a good yarding at their Inglewood yards last Wednesday, with a attendance of buyers, all stock were well competed for, and weaners tool; a distinct improvement on last sales, practically everything yarded was sold at the hammer at the following prices:— Store cows £2 15s to £3 ss, forward do £3 15s to £! Bs, fat do £6, 18 to 20-month steers (poor) £2 Ms to C2 15s, weaner steers (good) 3Ss to 39s fid, others '2os to 325, mixed weaners (good) 28s to 335, others 2:!s to 2ls 6d, good f.m. ewes 12s fid to 12; lOd, culls 6s 7d, cull lambs 5s 7d, others Ss Id, 9s Id, 9s lid. bulls £<i to £5.
