The Cabinet has ordered the battleship United States to sail immediately for Tampico and enforce Admiral Mayo’s demand for a .salute from President Huerta. Wireless calls have been ( sent in every direction to muster all available ships. “CRAVE DEVELOPMENTS.” SENSATION IN THE STATES. (Received 1.45 p.m.) New York, April 14. The Cabinet discussed the Mexican situation secretly. Mr Daniels (Secretary of the Navy) has ordered the American fleet to Mexican waters. „ It is understood that grave developments arc pending. The torpedo flotilla stationed at Pensacola, Florida, has been ordered to Tampico. The President discussed with Mr Lind the Whole situation. It is now thought likely that the patience of the United States is exhausted with Huerta, and that action leading to an-outbreak of war is contemplated. 1 A sensation was caused throughout the United States by the orders issued to the fleet.
