The police at. Christchurch to-day raided the premises of R. Wilson, tobacconist, and arrested A. Morton (assistant) and Charles Glasson, and took possession of all documents (states the Press Association). Glasson was charged with being found in a common gaining house) and Morton with using the shop as a gaming house. The police later arrested J. Muhlicson (commission agent) on a charge of using the office as a gaming house. Bail was allowed of £IOO in each case. Dr. Cameron held a post mortem ex: animation at Whangamomona last night on the body of a man named Shearney, who was last seen alive on Monday, and who was found dead yesterday morning. The doctor’s evidence at the inquest held at 7,30 this morning was that death was due to valvular disease of the heart and strangulated hernia, and a, verdict was returned by the jury of death from natural causes. The body was taken to New Plymouth for interment.
