NEW ZEALAND AWARDS. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] Sydney, April 7. The Royal Show opened to-day n fine weather with a splendid attendance. There were 8500 entries, and £7OOO w<is awarded in prize-money. New Zealand awards included; Thoroughbred stallion, Don Hannibal, third. Trotting stallion, four years and over, Ribhonwood first and Belmont second. Ribbouwood’s progeny scored a first and second in one-year trotting stallions, first and third in brood mares, three years and over,and first in one-year filly. Flavdnius was the champion stallion. Clydesdale stallion, four years and over, Mount Royal, first; three years, Sir Garland, second; two years, the New Zealand bred Up-to-date, second; active farm Clydesdale mares, Lady Ida, first; heavy Clydesdale mares, four years or over, Princess lanuy, hist and champion. The display of sheep was the best yet. John Nixon took all the prizes in English homesters, being the only exhibitor.
MORE NEW ZEALAND SUCCESSES (Received 11.5 a.ra.) Sydney, April 8. Additional awards are as follows Trotting stallions, two years and under three (New Zealand bred). 1C ‘ tor Wilks secured first. Clydesdale heavy stallions, two years and under three (New Zealand bred).—Sir Ronald was first and was also awarded reserve championship. Cattle.—Shorthorns, bull, one year old and under I*.— Douglas McKean s Tartan King. : ‘ , The heavy-weight bullocks created a record for the exhibits Faireys Shorthorn weighed 20/6 and the Here ford 9376. His champion crossbred was one of the best beasts ever shown in Sydney.
