The man whose dead body was found at the foot of the Orakei cliff has been identified as Stuart Lyell. He is middle aged.

James Thomson, aged 19, second son of Mr J. W. Thomson, harbourmaster at Okarito, lost his life on Friday at the Five Mile Creek. Thomson was taking stores up the .creek in a boat, and, not returning, a search was made next day. The body was found on Saturday afternoon in the creek.

i Gisborne, March 23.. A middle aged man was found dead . in a doorway near a building in course of construction and was identified as W. Jones; an immigrant, who arrived from England in September last. He had been working in the country. The man had been drinking about town and spent a night out in a storm. The Coroner returned a verdict of death from'pleurisy.
