SUDDEN DEATH IN HOSPITAL.

. At the inquest concerning the death of James Dobil, a land salesman, who expired at the hospital yester.iaj air ter a drinking bout, the medical evidence suggested that death was possibly due to corrosive poisoning, and the inquiry was adjourned pending a report from fjhe Government Analyst on the contentsof deceased's stomach.
A BODY FOUND.
Wellington, January 26
The body of James Waterstret, keeper of the hulk Solgran, who was drowned on the 16th inst., while fixing a line to a buoy, was recovered near the Taranaki Street wharf this ingAt the inquest a verdict was returned that deceased was accidentally drowned, no blame being attachable to anyone. KILLED AT A DAM. Dunedin, January 26. The Superintendent of Police has been advised that John Smeath, a laborer, aged '25 years, .married, was killed accidentally by the brake handle of the jig at the Manorburn dam this i morning.
DROWNED WHILE BATHING.
Christchurch, January 26
A man named William George Morris, living on Shakespeare Road, Greymouth, was drowned at Xew Brighton this afternoon. He went out bathing with another man, named John Sentiman, also from Greymouth. Both were poor swimmers, and they got out of their depth. Sentiman was held up by a rescuer, and brought to shore, both being badly exhausted. Morris' mother is still in Auckland, living in Church street, Ponsonby.
FATALITY AT WANGANUI.
Wanganui, January 26.
James Stevenson, a resident of Eastown, was drowned in the Wanganui river at Makirikiri at seven o'clock this evening. He fell overboard from a launch. His body was not recovered. Stevenson is supposed to have been a married man.
DROWNED IN THE wAIRAU.
Blenheim, January 27
A laborer named John HHngworth, 44, was drowned in the Wairau river at Spring Creek yesterday. He attempted to swim across the river but sank when half way. It is presumed he had taken cramp. The body was recovered.
