fr.r, Electric Tblegbaph-^Copybight] Times— Sydney Soar Special Cables.
(Received 8 a.m.) London, January 25
Before the Dominions Commission, Sir L. 'Simth. permanent secretary to the Board of Trade, gave evidence, that he knew of important instances where trade which passed foreign competitors was recovered through the aid of the trade commissioners stationed in the Dominions. It was impracticable to make the commercial intelligence system inter-Imperial. ' Sir E. Vincent remarked that complaints had been made that lists of traders in the Dominion had not Jjeeii supplied to the Chamber of Commerce. Sir L. Smith replied that republication enabled the lists to reach the hands of foreign traders. It was preferable that application be made to the Boar dof Trade by suitable persons.
