Big Cricket.
FOR U.S.A. ANB CANADA.
TO LEAVE IN APRIL. IBy Eceotric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 10.40 a.m.) Sydney, January 13. Austin Ridmond, Sydney, captain of the American cricket team, and Dow, Adelaide, treasurer, are organising another team to leave, in April for matches in the United States and Canada. The programme also includes Bermuda and the List Indies. THE "DEFIANCE" TEAM. UP AGAINST THE BOARD OF CONTROL. The .Herald says: No notification has been given to the Board of Control, and it is stated in some quarters that the object of the tour is to ;ecuiv prominent players, thus thwarting the Board's efforts to select a first-class team for South Africa. Players received invitations in a confidential way. This system of secretly organising teams is probably a result of much of the chaos which existed in the cricket world a few years ago, when a number of prominent Australian players refused to recognise the authority of the Board.
