Airman Hawker

The aviator, Hawker, is a passenger by the Maloja, and is on a three months' visit. He brings an aeroplane, intending to give exhibitions, and will possibly attempt the flight from Melbourne to Sydney. He is prepared to loop-the-loop, if sufficient inducement is offered." He says the feat is easy possessing no great ele-
ments of danger. Mr Hawker returns to England to compete in the Gordon Bennett test for the Daily Mail prize.
NEW ZEALAND'S AEROPLANE.

Auckland, January 13
W. W. Hammond, the aviator, has arranged to make a flight on January 29th with the Government's new aeroplane. He will fly at a considerable height over the city, starting from the Exhibition grounds. At a later dates he will fly over the-city at night with the machine illuminated by .electric lights. These will be the first aeroplane flights of any note in New Zealand.
