The Licensing Bill was circulated in the House of - Representatives this evening, it consists of four clauses, and reduces the majority required to carry national prohibition from three-, fifths to 55 per cent., restoration following by the same majority. Section 3 amends the provision in the- Act of 1910 relating to barmaids, by omitting from sub-section 1 the words “while the bar is open for the sale of liquor ’ and substituting the words “while the icensod premises are lawfully open for the sale of liquor to the public.” The fourth schedule is amended so that the first question submitted to the elector is: “1 vote for national coninuance,” instead of “1 vote for national prohibition.” Mr Massey intimated that the Bill would l)e introduced during the first week of the next session.
