Diamond Diggings.

RUSH TO NEW FIELD.

EXCITING SCENES. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 8 a.m.) Capetown, December 5. There is a tremendous diamond rush to alluvial diggings at Killarney, twen-ty-four miles from Taxings in British Bechuanaland. Twelve hundred pegged out claims in the presence of thousands of spectators. There were scenes of wildest excitement. The gravel apparently is spread over a large area, but is extremely shallow, varying from a yard to six inches. Experienced prospectors consider the rush unwarranted. The outlook for the women and children is' bad. Water and food are scarce. ■
