Maiden Hurdles.—Merrimax 1, Spectre 2, Poictiers 3. Scratched: Vestal. Six furlongs from home Spectre took charge, but coming at the last hurdle, Merrimax was on even terms, drawing out and winning by over lengths. Time 2in in 52sec. Great Northern Guineas.—-Soltano ] Sir Moseley 2, Soldier 3. Scratched; Soultikoff and Christine. Soltaiio jumped to the front when the barrier was lifted and was never headed, winning easily by two and a-half lengths. Time, Imin 39 l-ssec—a record for the race. Welcome Stakes,—Chi me 1, Dclenda 2, Mullingar 3. Scratched : Last Call. Chime led all the way. Time, Imin 1 4-ssec. Onehunga 'Steeplechase—Addnbught 1, Hauera 2, Captain Jack 3. Scratched: The Chief, Atohaero and Pyrmont. Addnought led all the way and Won easily. Makiri and Slang fell,

and the latter broke his neck. Time 6min ISsec.
