SERIOUS MINE STRIKE.
ATTACK ON A TRAIN.
[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] New York, October 28. The miners’ strike trouble at Trinidad, Colorado, continues. The strikers captured a protected train which the mine guards occupied. The strikers, armed with high-powered rifles, attacked , the train. The guards returned the fire, but thereafter fled. Several were wounded.
MARTIAL LAW PROCLAIMED.
(Received 12.30 p.m.) New York, October 28. Martial law has been proclaimed throughout Southern Colorado, and in' the whole State the militia lias been, called out. In eighteen pitched battles twenty-eight were killed and fortyone injured. There has been wholesale damage, and destruction of property has marked the strike up to date. Frequent murders and fights between the mine-guards and the strikers are occurring.
