MURDERER SHOT BY POLICEMAN

The police report a tragedy at Woolbrook, near Armidale. A halfcaste named Brown shot his momer-in-law dead. Constable Clark was sent to arrest him, and on approaching the house Brown fired several harmless (shots. Clark fired in reply, fatally wounding Brown, i Brown was an ex-black tracker, and was armed with a rifle. Clark, finding his revolver, outranged, procured a rifle. The cause oi the tragedy is unknown.
