After a desperate struggle, in which the detective’s clothes were torn off his back, Miss Kerr and Mrs Saunders were re-arrested under the Cat and Mouse Act at headquarters in Kingfiway, where they were preparing for the autumn campaign. Four suffragettes were fined 40s or a month’s imprisonment for obstructing the police.
