HIS MAJESTY'S PICTURES
Last night's big change of pictures found great favor with a large and most enthusiastic audience. The latesl Pathe Gazette was somewhat longer than usual and teems with latest current happenings. The Rugby match, New Zealand versus New South Wales, at the Sydney Oval, caused great ex citeinent, and was very clearly depicted. The star feature film was "A Life for a Lite," by the famous Cines Co., of Italy. It is full of "sensations and real drama with a realistic lov< story and is taken amidst Italy's natural mountain scenery of superb grandeur. "The Priest and The Man," ;;
photo story by Edison's clever performers, is replete with strong and striking situations' and episodes of life in Western America. The plot is very life-like, and runs a good ti* with Brough and Boucicault's famous Village Priest. "In Strange Company" and a host of comics and splendid colored scenics tend to make a first-class programme. To-night the usual amateur trials will take place. Four entries have already been obtained, and providing the performers are not shy, great fun is anticipated. The great film feature, "Sweet Xell of Old Drury," with Australia's own premier actress, Miss Nellie Stewart in the title role, will be screened on Tuesday next, 23rd, for one night only. This film is an exclusive and most expensive production, Reserved seats may be obtained at Theatre. No extra charge.
