SPRSfJG FLOWER SHOW.

A SPLENDID SUCCESS.

The show of spring flowers held under the auspices of the Stratford Horticultural Society at the Town Hall yesterday was universally voted the best spring show yet held by the Society. It was successful in, every way, the entries being a record There was especially good competition for the Daffodil Cup, there being no less than eight competitors, although two competitors of previous years had dropped out. The competition for the points prize in. the novice classes resulted in a tie, J. B. Richards and Cecil Corkill each scoring eleven points. Mr Davis, of New Plymouth, acted as judge. The decorative classes were judged by Mrs Lovell, of Hawera.

Messrs J. B. Richards and W. Besleyiably carried put the duties of class stewards.

All the arrangements in connection with the show went without a hitch, credit being due in this connection to the secretary, Mr W. S. Cato.

During the evening a fine selection of orchestral items was contributed by Mr and Mrs Penn and friends. Following are details of the prizelist.

NARCISSI

Collection of 20 daffodils, first prize Royal Horticultural Society's bronze modal; second, certificate of merit.— The only exhibitors were: P. Davis and W. S. Cato. Loth were disqualified, owing to errors in arrangements. Dafl'ofldil Cup (presented by Mr W.
