One thousand Irish pilgrims returned from Lourdes. There wore pathetic; scenes at Victoria station, the patients being removed in stretchers and invalid chairs. The doctor who was surpervising said that seven firstclass cures had been effected, and many others had been benefited. He was not prepared to say if the cure would be permanent.
INSTRUCTORS FOR GREECE.

The Government lias urgently instructed the Minister at Paris to secure a renewal of the, contracts with the French military instructors serving with the Greek forces.

WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF.
London, September 17
At the British Association, Mr Victor Plarr, librarian of the Royal College of Surgeons, in a paper on "Dreams," declared that dreams di'souised the fulfilment of a repressed svish. The average dream lasted ten minutes. Its function was not to disturb sleep, but to quieten unconsciou: tendencies which would otherwise arouse the sleeper.
THE SCHMIDT TRAGEDY,

Dr. Mucet, a dentist who rented an apartment with Schmidt, has been arrested on a charge of counterfeiting It is alleged, that he assisted Schmidt to dismember the body.

It is considered likely that M. Poincaire's visit to Madrid at the beginning of October will lead to an entente between France and Spain, es pecially with a view to mutual assistance in developing Morocco.
