THE WARKWORTH TRAGEDY. [Per Press Association.] Auckland, August 23. The woman, Mary Winchester Hall, who killed her child at Warkwortb recently, and who was directed by the Judgo at the Supreme Court during the week to be detained at the Mental Hospital during the pleasure of the Minister of Justice, hanged herself at the institution yesterday with a sheet. At the inquest, the jury found thai the woman hanged herself, and added that it was an error of judgment in' permitting her to have sheets. \\ was stated by the superintendent that the woman could not be properly looked after, owing to overcrowding. FATAL TRAP ACCIDENT. Gisborne, August 23. A boy named Edward Yigis, eighl years old, was killed on Barker'f Hill. The lad was riding on a baker's cart down the rather steep hill when the horse shied and the en* 1 ' went over the bank. The.cart fel' on Vigis and broke his neck. The driver of the cart, Howard Clare, escaped with a severe shaking.
FOUND DEAD. Foxton, August 25. A man named William Robertson. 65, recently in the employ of local carriers, was found dead in his whare on the Beach road yesterday morning. He is said to have a son at Wangnui. An inquest will be held today.
