MEXICO.
NINE FIGHTS. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] Press Association.] Mexico City, August 23. Nine fights have been reported, al' of which resulted in Federal victories. Officials report that the military situation has greatly improved, and that the rebels are disheartened. One hundred and seventy-five rebels and eight Federals have been killed in three fights. U.S.A. DEFINITE POLICY. (Received 8.5 a.m.) Washington, August 23. Britain, France and Japan are exercising pressure on Prcsidente Huerta to secure a peaceful settlemenet. President Wilson reads a message to Congress on Tuesday, which definitely states the United States' policy in regard to Mexico.
