LIFE ON THE RAND.
PLEA FOR IMPROVED CONDITIONS. [By Electric Telegraph —Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 1.5 p.rn.) Capetown, August 15. Mr Kocotze, Government Mining Engineer, in his annual report on the Rand, pleads for improved health conditions. Phthisis killed off the best miners, leaving inexperienced mon of mixed nationality incapable of dealing with the huge output.
