Webster, Dobson and Co.’s Report.
At our Stratford sale-, Tuesday last, we had a good yarding, chiefly °f young cuttle and springing heifers. Competition hoth for stores and heifers was good, and practically everything was sold at the hammer or after. A very choice line of 25 grade Jersey heifers yarded by Air R. Duiglo were much admired, and sold readily at £U to £l6 10s. Wc quote Weaner steers 48s to 545, do. heifers 17s 6d to 535, weaner heifers colored 64s 6d to 85s, store cows (old; 28s 6d to 50s, fresh cows £3 10s to £4 7s, empty heifers 70s to 755, m calf heifers (small) 60s to 67s 6d, bullocks £B, springing heifers £5 10s to £9, Jersey heifers £7 to £l6 10s, backward heifers 90s to 120 s, dairy cows £5 5s to £lO 10s.
On August Bth wc field a clearing sale for Mr M. Levandnwski, there being a large attendance. The cows sold readily at good prices, realising for young cows, close to profit, £ll to £l6, more backward £7 to £lO, older cows £5 5s to £8 10s, pigs 325, heifers £5 10s to £6 ss, Jersey weaner heifers £3 to £4 17s 6d, mixed weaners 45s 6d, goats ss, Midhirst Factory shares 16s, unbroken gelding £l7. MATTHEWS, BENNETT AND CO.’S REPORT, Matthews, Bennett and Co. report that thero was a good yarding of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last. Bidding was good, and nearly everything was sold at the following prices:—Good cows £2 15s, 20 months’ empty heifers £2 18s 6d to £3 12s 6d, store cows (backward) £2 os to £3 10s, forward £4 to £4 Bs, good springers £5 10s to £7, backward do. £3 10s to £5, lambs 10s 6d.
