Mr Dunn mov'd that the Executive, approving of the stylo of work in practical agriculture now being taken in this district and the further increases of its scope, desires that an agricultural school be established in Hawera. , ... Mr Willis seconded tbe motion which was carried. POPULARISING THE BRANCHES.

The matter of popularising the branches was discussed, and in the course oi the discussion Mr Dunn (Auroa) said that his branch, had found that a good means of bringing members together was to have monthiy meetings and have a subject of interest to farmers for discussion at each meeting. The syllabus drawn up by the Auroa branch was as follows(1) How to build up a dairy herd, (2) Best way to prepare land for sowing root crops, (3) How to Igy down pastures, (4) Fodder crops, (5) Stock troubles, (6) Points on feeding off swedes, (7) Profitable pig keeping, (8) Manuring pastures, (9) General management of farm, (10) Best method of feeding calves.

Members thought that the syllabus was a good one, and if adopted by the branches would result in much benefit. GENERAL. Resolutions were passed opposing the “Daylight Saving Bill” and “Betterment Bill” now before the House. Mr Hunter, delegate to the Dominion Conference, gave a report of the business done at the conference, and was accorded avote of thanks.
