MOONLIGHT'S ASSOCIATE.

A BALLARAT INCIDENT. Melbourne, July 28. At Ballarat to-day John Dermody, who had assisted the notorious "Captain Moonlight" to escape from Ballarat Gaol over 40 years ago, was charged with vagrancy. Dermody, who is now over 70 jearg of age, told the Bench that .because of his association with "Moonlight" 40 years ago people had refused to give him work. On the application of the police Dermody was remanded to the very cells from which he aided "Captain Moonlight"to escape.
