♦ DEALING WITH THE SUSPECTS. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyrign-j ] [United Press 'Association.] Sydney, August 4. Nine smallpox cases were reported in the metropolitan area to-day, anr! one from Liverpool. The cases at JTass and Ulmarra are under investigation. The latter is believed to be. smallpox. The suspected cases at Armidale and Newcastle are not smallpox. Brisbane, August 4.
Suspicious cases reported from Cairns, Goodna and Paddington arc under observation. Melbourne, August 4. The Karoola, with'her passenger.' and crew, is now freed from all restrictions, and the last contacts have been released. The only occupant of the quarantine'-station is the woman who caused the original scare. She is progressing favorably. SOUTH ISLAND STILL FREE.
