HENDERSON BURNING CASE

At the inquest on the death of Ellen Ahlgren, the victim of the Henderson burning sensation. John Ahlgren, in his evidence, stated when lie arrived home and found, his wife on the floor burned to the waist, ho asked her how it happened. She replied; “It is some of your fancy woman’s doings." She was also questioned by a constable, and declared that Mrs Williamson wilfully set lire to her clothing. Witness admitted that the women sometimes quarrelled. He denied that he had been unduly friendly with Mrs Willimson. His wife drank heavily. Ho believed she was pretty “full" on the day of the tragedy, and Mrs Williamson was not sober. Ihe inquest was adjourned.^
A CLERK IN COURT. A G Brett, clerk to the Eden terrace Road Board, was charged at the Police Court at the instance of the Audit Department with failing to account for £UI 3s 3d. He was remanded for a week.
